Simon Schmid is an entrepreneur, lifestyle and wellness coach, and master trainer, currently based in London, the United Kingdom offering health and wellness mentorship and coaching to his clients. Understanding performance-driven results, Simon has worked with fitness models, sports stars, celebrities, as well as notable TV presenters.

I recently sat down with him on his health and fitness podcast - 'The Simon Schmid Podcast' to discuss the PTminder origin story. Rick my business partner, and I saw the need for a system for personal trainers. What personal trainers needed most was a system to help with the challenging and time consuming tasks like payments, bookings and general scheduling. After we identified the gap in the market, we dove into the solution. Knee deep, and no turning back. And the rest was history.

Simon, with 20 years of experience in the industry - explains how the system has given him freedom. He goes on to note the importance of that level of freedom especially in a time-driven business. He asks some great questions around the global PT industry trends and the evolving clientele.

We also chat about the challenges we faced when we first started out and how we got the business off the ground in the first place. Walking down memory lane, I recall the struggle of winning our very first 100 users! Going around Australia meeting with our potential customers, understanding their pain points by having many, many conversations with them, took some doing. But once we started to locate gaps and patterns and identified our target customer and primary user - it started to snowball from there.

All in all, it was an enjoyable and insightful session with Simon and I'm excited to share it here. Have a listen to this podcast below, and follow 'The Simon Schmid podcast' for some amazing health & fitness advice and discussions.
